The Latvian Credit Union is run by its members, for its members. Only members can borrow money from the credit union and only members can take advantage of a credit union's superior savings rate. Credit unions are non-profit and consistently offer lower loan rates and higher savings rates than banks. A credit union is made up of people who have a common bond - something that links them together!

WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO JOIN?

If you are the spouse or blood relative of someone who qualifies for membership, you are eligible to join the Latvian Credit Union. Even if the relative is deceased, you are eligible because of their original eligibility ( children, grandchildren, and in-laws! ).

"ONCE A MEMBER, ALWAYS A MEMBER"

Current membership in one of the qualifying organization is not necessary as long as there was previous membership in one of them. Eligibility is the key! Speaking the Latvian language or a certain percentage of Latvian blood is not required.
